Happy Anniversary!
Ten years ago today I married my best friend.

I wish we both still looked that young and exuberant… but we do still look that happy. I love you, sweetie!

The boys came back from their dad’s two weeks ago, and my life has been a whirlwind ever since. However, they started school today (yeehaw! LOL) and tomorrow Sweet Girl starts preschool. I think I might actually regain control soon and have time to do the important things, like write and read blogs…
Just for fun until I get a chance to sit down and write, and get enough sleep to make what I write logical, here are a few snapshots from our trip to the ocean a couple weeks ago:

DH kicking the sea at me - Seaside, OR

Little Man and Sweet Girl beginning their sandy adventures - Lincoln City, OR

Little Man and DH enjoying the sunset at the beach - Lincoln City, OR

Sweet Girl and Little Man keeping warm … the 65 degree weather with a light breeze felt like heaven to me, but the kids were cold! LOL - a scenic turnout somewhere between Lincoln City and Newport, OR
During the trip, Sweet Girl watched several DVDs, including assorted Dragon Tales and the Veggie Tales version of Jonah, umpteen way too many several times. DH and I learned quickly how to tune it out for the most part, catching a few phrases here and there.
During a viewing of Jonah, DH caught the phrase “plush-toy Jonah” and ran with it…
“Ya know, it’d be kind of fun to come out with a line of prophet toys… how about a plush Moses that says, ‘Let my people go?’ Or an Enoch… but he’d disappear at random. Lazarus – take out the batteries, he’ll still work. Little Nephis, complete with bows and arrows. Then there’s the modern-day prophets… little bobble head figures in suits - tap the feet, he’ll say ‘Pay your tithing!’… Tap it again, ‘Pray always!’” I volunteered, “Maybe he could recite the Nine Be’s!” DH laughed. “How about, ‘Line upon line, precept upon precept,’ or ‘Keep the commandments?’”
DH said, “They could be prizes in boxes of cereal – Word of Wisdom cereal, full of whole grains. Maybe make an Adam and Eve version, with chunks of dried apple…. Sinfully good!”
We were on a roll.
“We could expand the food line – maybe Book of Mormon fruit snacks? Packets of Lamanites with gummy spears and frowny faces, Nephites with golden plates and smiley faces?” “Ammon’s packet would have swords, sheep, and severed arms.” “The Old Testament line could have David and Goliath – rocks, several Davids, one big Goliath!”
We stopped giggling long enough to ponder if he could control the truck if a tire “accidentally” blew, or if lightning struck a warning blow.
DH added, “We could put a strawberry gel center in the middle, so when you bit into it…”
I looked sideways at him.
“Gee, honey, I don’t know… that might be too much!”
We crack ourselves up.
Why are vacations so much work?
Hopefully I can write something amusing after I’ve resurfaced from under the pile of sandy laundry we brought home, the pile of newspapers that collected in our absence, the pile of mail to be dealt with, the 200+ digital photos that need to be uploaded & sorted, and the piles and piles of produce DH and I picked today from the garden. It went wild while we were gone. I can’t even think of something snappy to say to end this… I’m just tired and need to recover from our 9-day journey!
