Little Man’s munchies

Filed under: Little Man, general insanity - Taffi @ 8:00 am

We went to my mom’s the other day. Little Man brought this home. (It was a little more full then, it’s been a couple of days! LOL)

(In case you can’t tell, it’s a bag full of E. L. Fudge Double-Stuffed cookies - you know, the kind with an elf depicted on one side?) Now, kids bringing home a bag of goodies from Grandma’s is more than common, it’s a tradition. They simply don’t leave until they have their baggie.

However… Little Man’s baggie was for a different reason than general gluttony. He had to bring home his leftovers. While the other kids, my sister and I were busy helping Mom get her Christmas decorations out and up, Little Man was busy with something else: raiding her cookie jar with nobody to stop him.

Fortunately, he didn’t eat all of the cookies.

Just the heads off all the elves.

Twisted confession of the day

Filed under: general insanity - Taffi @ 3:15 am

So, tonight I stayed up, working on finishing up the journaling on the 17 scrapbook pages I did while visiting my inlaws over the holiday weekend, and had VH1 on in the background, only halfway watching. I barely paid attention to the little news blurb thing, where they talked about Twisted Sister coming out with a Christmas album. I chuckled to myself and continued making page titles on the computer. The next video they played was vintage Sister - "I Wanna Rock!" I watched, transfixed, getting my weekly dose of 80s bad fashion and hair bands. I shuddered and went back to work. Then, the next video caught my eye… more Sister… but this time, it was a new video, from - what else? - their new Christmas album. It was like a train wreck. I couldn’t help but watch. The video was horribly cheesy - true to 80s fashion - but the song itself? O Come, All Ye Faithful, as done in 80s metal?

I liked it.

I think I want to get their album.

But I know that if I do, I’ll have to hide it from DH or endure merciless taunting the rest of my life.

Note to self:

If I’m going to let Sweet Girl munch on dry cereal before church starts, I should make sure I take her for a drink of water before Sacrament. Otherwise, don’t be surprised if, after sipping the Sacramental water, she loudly says, "Aaahhh! That was refreshing!"

Another “Um, sure…” moment, brought to you by Sweet Girl

Filed under: my family - Taffi @ 11:30 pm

Yesterday, after picking up Sweet Girl from preschool, I headed to my sister’s house to meet my mom and my other sister to help plan Thanksgiving dinner. Her house is very close to Munchkin’s school. As we got closer, Sweet Girl asked if we were going to pick up Munchkin. This odd little conversation followed…

Me: No, we’re headed to Terri’s, remember?

Sweet Girl: *with a sigh of relief* Good! Because he teases me a lot. Kiddo does too. Both of my brothers tease me too much.

Me: You’re not entirely innocent in the teasing category yourself, you know. You tease them just as much as they tease you, and you tease Little Man all the time, too.

SG: I know… brothers tease brothers and brothers tease sisters, and sisters sometimes even tease brothers… but I bet nobody ever teases a crocodile.

Me: Um… no, I guess they don’t.

Fun… and yet, so frustrating

Filed under: Sweet Girl - Taffi @ 6:56 pm

That description applies to both this:

and this: www.weffriddles.com.

First… the riddles. Holy crap, are they addicting. And mind-numbing. And frustrating. But fun. Give ‘em a try… but don’t ask me for help! LOL I’m currently stuck on level 33. (That’s why I haven’t blogged the past few days… I’ve been fighting riddles!)

As for Sweet Girl… this week she has driven me bonkers with new attitudes and actions. She’s taken to telling me to "mute" when she doesn’t want to listen to me. emoticon She’s not nearly as patient with Little Man as she used to be. Twice this week she’s caused major messes and not told me (today it was a diet Pepsi that she wasn’t supposed to have, and it spilled all over the carpet - it took Little Man yelling, "oh! oh! pop! pop! oh! oh! pop!" before she said, um, Mom…?).

And then, just about when I’m about to list her on eBay, she does something so darn cute!

Yesterday we were running errands when she informed me that her "pet honey bee, Ella" was there. Here is Ella’s story:

"She just came back to her beehive. She was gone all weekend! She went to a beehive hotel to get away from her cousins. They were bothering her while she was trying to do her paperwork, so she left. Her six cousins are ants, and they were crawling all over her paperwork. She left and visited her grownup cousins, that are bees, because they wouldn’t bother her and she wanted to see them, but she wanted to have fun swimming at the hotel. Ella likes to swim, because it washes the honey off her wings."
