Boo.

Filed under: general insanity - Taffi @ 3:23 pm

‘Tis the season for ghouls and goblins to show up at my house.

This guy is usually referred to as Jason. Since he’s holding the new sign I made this year, though, I think I’m gonna call him Barry.

The coffin. Haven’t completed its setup, yet, though. It will have Dracula hanging out, which will make the sign on it make more sense.

The other new sign I made this year - this one’s for Dracula.

Didn’t get a full shot of the gallows, but this does show the poor souls hanging on it.

Guillotine’s up, as usual.

Poor Gill seems to have lost his head. Oh, and a hand. I need to fix that.

Little Man called this guy Superman. Hey, whatever it takes.

We’re still working on making the last headstone. I think I want to redo M.T. Grave, too. It looks bad compared to Gill O’Teen and Van Pyre.

Lest you think all of my decor is scary… the door is cutesy. :)

We’re not done, though. I still need to decorate inside. I’ll show ya when we’re done.

And this, my friends, is why I don’t "do" gardening.

Helpful hint for the kitchen #97

Filed under: Little Man, general insanity - Taffi @ 12:09 pm

If, while boiling water to make mac-n-cheese upon the request of your 2-year-old, your sister calls, step away from the stove. Step far, far away. In fact, leaving the kitchen would be your best option. Otherwise, while engaged in chatter, you will not pay enough attention to what you are doing and will end up pouring the cheese packet into the boiling water, instead of the noodles, thus creating nasty orange globs in the water. As Little Man said, "Dat’s disdustin!"

However, if you strain it out and start boiling some fresh water, you can salvage enough cheese goo to make a sauce that will be able to appease your child.

Thank goodness he appears to be as foodie-challenged as his oldest brother.

“Missing your cat?…

Filed under: Munchkin, general insanity - Taffi @ 6:34 am

Try looking under my tires."

My sister loves this bumper sticker. Being a cat person, I never found it all that funny, to be honest. emoticon Yesterday Munchkin exhibited similar animal-non-loving-but-funny-nonetheless tendencies to the ones his aunt has.

We heard an ad on the radio for some pet recovery service, saying how they can issue a ‘lost pet alert’ to vets, animal shelters, and whatnot in your area if you lose your pet, and once found, they will call you to let you know where your pet is. There was a dramatized version.

"I can’t find Sam!" "We’ll send out an alert in your area, sir. Don’t worry, we’ll find him!" Music. A telephone rang. "Hello?" "Hello, sir. This is Sue with Whatever The Pet Recovery Service Company Is Named. We’ve found Sam!"

This is where Munchkin piped in with, "Yeah, but too bad he was dead on the side of the road."
